How to Install NoteWithMe as an App (No App Store Required)

What Is a Progressive Web App (PWA)?

A Progressive Web App is a website that can be installed on your device like a native app. Once installed, it:

• Lives on your home screen or dock
• Opens without browser chrome (no address bar)
• Works offline
• Loads almost instantly

NoteWithMe is built as a PWA. Installing it gives you the full app experience without downloading anything from the App Store or Google Play.

Why Install Instead of Using in Browser?

Faster: The app is cached locally and loads in under a second, even on slow connections.

Offline: All your notes and tasks are available without internet. Make changes offline, sync when you reconnect.

Install on iPhone (iOS — Safari)

1. Open Safari and go to notewithme.app
2. Tap the Share icon (box with arrow) at the bottom
3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen
4. Edit the name if you want (defaults to "NoteWithMe")
5. Tap Add in the top right

NoteWithMe now appears on your home screen in full-screen mode.

Note: PWA installation requires Safari on iOS. Chrome and other iOS browsers don't support full PWA installation.

Install on Android (Chrome)

1. Open Chrome and go to notewithme.app
2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top right
3. Tap Install App (or "Add to Home Screen")
4. Tap Install in the confirmation dialog

Chrome may show an automatic install prompt — a small banner at the bottom. Tap Install to accept.

Install on Desktop (Chrome, Edge, or Brave)

1. Go to notewithme.app in Chrome, Edge, or Brave
2. Look for the install icon (⊕) in the address bar, right side
3. Click it → Click Install

NoteWithMe opens in its own window, separate from your browser.

Updating NoteWithMe

You don't need to manually update a PWA. NoteWithMe updates automatically in the background when connected. The next time you open the app after an update, you're running the latest version.

Troubleshooting

"I don't see the install option"

Use Safari on iOS or Chrome/Edge/Brave on Android and desktop. Firefox does not support PWA installation on iOS.

"The app isn't working offline"

Open the app at least once while connected. The first open downloads cached resources for offline use.

"Data isn't syncing"

Pull down to refresh or reconnect to internet. NoteWithMe syncs automatically when connectivity is restored.
